Welcome to Den’s pens. I am the brains behind all of the pens you will see on this website and our store, but who am I? Who am I really? Well I am Dennis. I make my pens from home; the sunny coastal climes of Wales, UK. I have two beautiful daughters and a wonderful wife. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, which is a constant inspiration for me to create stunning writing implements for everyone to enjoy.

I use all sorts of materials to make my pens – acrylics, polyurethanes, vulcanised rubber (ebonite), cellulose acetates, and metals. Each pen is made by hand with a pride and passion that knows no bounds. I take the utmost care in making your pen with an attention to detail that ensures you receive something you are truly delighted to use, every time you use it.

“I had a chance to put in the nib, ink up the pen, and put in an extended writing session in today.

The nib that I have (a Regalia Writing Labs “Trilogy”) fit without any issues. I expect that I’ll need to continue to practice to use the nib with any proficiency: I was expecting the “up-down” angle of the nib to affect the thickness of the line but I don’t seem to be able to anticipate how much tilting the nib “right-left” affects line thickness as well.

For whatever it’s worth: one of my cats has already attempted to bat the pen off of my desk and the clip slowed her down enough for me to save it from a fall. =)

The pen photographs beautifully. The grip has been really comfortable which is a relief as I’m hoping to 1) get enough practice in so that I get better line control which will let me 2) make this my regular “take it out for sketching” pen.

“A custom, handmade fountain pen…

What can I say?! I absolutely love it!! The quality of the body is great – it sits perfectly together with the threaded lid, and the cap posts perfectly without any wobble or slipping off. The nib is broad, and it’s lovely and smooth to write with. Den was brilliant… He wanted to make sure that I was 100% happy and sent through an amazing selection of materials to choose from and design options with regards to the cap and the clip.

Got to say – it’s got a beautiful shimmer under the light which is just caught on the images but in person it’s even better.
